On the night of Sunday June 8, 2008 I went to bed around midnight and chose not to set my PDA alarm. I woke up around 6:25 AM the next morning (June 9) to use the bathroom and then lay in bed for about 10 minutes resting and reflecting before finally getting up. When I got up, I immediately came to my office, knelt down, and prayed. After that, I began journaling on my computer.

The first thing I was prompted to do was write a message titled “Are you seeking BREAKTHROUGHS in your life?” to send to my Your Daily Blessing followers in two days (on March 11). The key scripture I had chosen was Habakkuk 2:2 – Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”

Next, Holy Spirit prompted me to help Dr. Jerry Graham prepare a Daily Gram (e-blast) for him to send to his 800 or so followers on Wed June 11 about the introductory journaling webinars (“UNCOMMON Journaling for Breakthroughs”) we were promoting together. The purpose of those was to spark interest in the 5-week UNCOMMON Journaling For DESTINY online coaching program we were launching live on June 17 and 18.

When I accessed Jerry’s Constant Contact (email marketing) account to post the message I had prepared, I discovered to my surprise that Jerry had already prepared an outstanding message titled “Journaling as Communion with God” using the exact same scripture verse I had chosen – Habakkuk 2:2.

In his message (upcoming email), Jerry mentioned that the two of us were teaming up to do a 5-week, 35-day on-line course in journaling (UNCOMMON Journaling For Destiny) with a special emphasis on understanding your life purpose or destiny. He went on to say this was an exciting combination of two of the most significant learning experiences he had been blessed with in his life, namely journaling as a means of engaging in a two-way dialog with God, and coaching with a specific emphasis on the “discovery” of one’s life purpose and destiny.

Jerry went on to write, “Over 25 years ago, I was taught to journal as a means of hearing God’s voice by Dr. Mark Virkler, who has since become a good friend and ministry colleague. Mark developed a seminar that he continues to teach to this day around the world, called ‘Communion With God’.” I recommend you CLICK HERE to read Jerry’s entire email message. Jerry is one of the most experienced DESTINY coaches in the world.

Jerry’s email (that he hadn’t even sent out yet) prompted me to call Dr. Mark Virkler later that afternoon (June 9). This was the very first time I had ever spoken to or met Mark Virkler and what he shared was so inspiring. I discovered that Mark is one of the top teachers in the world about spiritual journaling. As I was showing Mark how I journal online and shared the amazing story about Habakkuk 2:2 from that morning, Mark told me Habakkuk 2:1-2 is the foundational scripture for his Communion With God Ministries.

Now that grabbed my attention. 3 times in one day the LORD brought the same scripture (Habakkuk 2:2) to my attention and from 3 different sources. So I was all ears as Mark shared his profound wisdom and insights with me. And Mark promptly followed up our conversation by sending two emails, including one titled “You Can Hear God’s Voice!”

Early the next morning (Tuesday June 10), I woke up with Holy Spirit’s instruction to immediately apply Mark’s “4 keys to hear God” and also design a new computer desktop image with those 4 keys. After typing my prayer with a 2-way dialog with God, I was astonished with the result – a deeper intimacy with the LORD.

It’s interesting to note that Holy Spirit had actually prompted Jerry to refer me to Mark two weeks earlier knowing we were soon launching our journaling course because he knew Mark well and that he was one of more experienced journalers in the world. However, as most of us frequently do, I failed to seize the opportunity at that time.

How many times have you missed GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES because of failure to act in a timely fashion?

LORD, you want each of us to learn to hear Your voice because You love us and have specific instructions to give us each day – not vague thoughts, but specific things You want us to know and to do. You know what works and what doesn’t. You want to take each of us to an entirely new level of abiding in You. You want us to experience Your love like never before. You want us to know that You’re not just here beside us, but You’re here to answer questions that we have. You have been waiting. Teach each of us to hear Your voice by applying Mark Virkler’s 4 simple keys. Thank You Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, here I go, writing out my spontaneous prayer early in the morning. I’m so excited to get back to what I’ve known for quite a while You want me to do. Forgive me for allowing all sorts of distractions to get in the way of this magnificent habit. Thank You for Your attention grabber yesterday with Habukkuk 2 and the UNCOMMON connection to Mark Virkler and his UNCOMMON message.

Thank You for waking me up early this morning knowing You wanted me to change my desktop background to include an image of Jesus, Mark Virkler’s 4 keys to hear from God, and Habukkuk 2:1-3. Thank You for each image of Jesus You led me to. Thank you Holy Spirit for using me as Your instrument to design the new image using Photoshop. I love it.

Jesus, I see You and hear You saying “You want to dine with me this morning and each day. You’re certainly welcome here in my home and wherever I go. I hear You saying “You want to start having two way conversations instead of one way ones. I hear You saying You’ve been waiting for this moment for so long.” I hear You saying “You’ve been knocking on the door of my heart – that You have the answers to the problems I’ve been facing and that the solutions are very simple. You have solutions to my financial difficulties.”

I hear you saying “Mark Virkler’s web page for Outstanding Links” is full of prospects and new contacts for you – people who have been waiting years to have God connect you to them.” I hear You saying, “Bless Mark – to open new vistas for him through social marketing.”

VISION: I see NEW HORIZONS OF OPPORTUNITIES opening for Mark as He steps into the Internet space age. I see Mark standing at the beach looking out at the ocean while a magnificent sunrise takes place. I see Mark fall to his knees and start to cry. This is what he has been waiting for. This is his MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH. I see people – lots of people starting to run up and surround Mark on the beach. So many people coming. They’ve been waiting to meet Mark. They want to just be near him. They want to learn from him. O God, I’m overwhelmed with what You are showing me. I’m overwhelmed by the joy on so may people’s faces.

Now I see the people around Mark beginning to sit down. Mark is starting to speak to them like You did, Jesus, for Your sermon on the mount. Now the people are eating while they listen. This is one of the most beautiful picnic scenes I have ever seen. So many people. Now more are coming. People are hungry for Your Word. They want to hear from You Jesus. This is what they’ve been waiting for. Overwhelming. Joy. Delight. Free thought. Freedom.

Now I hear You saying Jesus that “You want me to take everyone who signs up for Jerry and my 5 week online journaling course to go through something similar – to learn to hear God by following Mark’s 4 keys.”

I’m so excited. Thank You Jesus for showing this to me.

I hear You saying “You are going to open Mark’s eyes to the new horizons that WEBINARS will open for him. Not just doors, not just gates, but horizons of opportunities. I hear You saying “COVENANT with Mark!!!” You have knit our hearts together. You have been patiently waiting for this moment – for this opportunity to advance the Kingdom of God through the combination of journaling, coaching, and the web.

Praise be to God. Hallelujah. I receive. I will send this prayer to Mark this morning as You are telling me.

Now I see myself lying down to rest. You’re telling me go back to bed. Lay down. You’ve been obedient. My glory is upon You. People will be attracted to You because You will have the “AROMA OF CHRIST.” What you offer will be irresistible to so many people. Rest now. Rest. Peace be with you. My peace. Thank You for dining with me. I’ve really enjoyed this. Now you get it. It’s so easy. I’ve been waiting to have Mark teach you. You will never be the same. Thank You for your obedience – your UNCOMMON obedience. Thank You for acknowledging Me everywhere You go.

Journaling is two lovers sharing love… speaking back and forth.

So you can write in the first person, as Jesus speaking directly to you and calling you by name. He will say, “my son, I want to you know…” so He is speaking in the first person to you… rather than the way you have it written… “I hear you saying that…”

It is just one more step of faith for you to take… not a hard thing… it will come naturally.

On June 18, 2008 the morning after the very first “UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny” class, I began the “daily” habit of applying Mark’s 4 keys to hear from God. Here is what Jesus told me in response to the Day #1 destiny question:

Day 1 Question
Lord, why do You want me to learn to hear Your voice?

Because I love You and I have specific instructions to give You each day – not vague thoughts, but specific things I want you to know and to do. Randy, I know what works and what doesn’t. I want to take you to an entirely new level of abiding in Me. I want you to experience My love like never before. I want You to know that I’m not just here beside You, but I’m here to answer questions that You have. I’ve been waiting.

All the things you’ve been praying and waiting for, I want to make happen. It was Me who put those desires in your heart. But first you had to learn to hear My voice. I know what order You are to do things, when You are to do things, what to do, and what not to do. I’m not a vague God. Just as you want your children to know clearly what you want them to do, so I want You to know clearly what I want You to to. I love You Randy. I want You to be married to Me, not just engaged. I can use you because You have a heart after my own heart. I’ve been preparing You. The time in NOW. Behold I do a new thing. My glory is upon You. My favor is upon You.

Jesus, I’m overwhelmed. This morning as I reflected back on yesterday, I realized all the breakthroughs that happened in just that one day. Then this morning, I have one of the most awesome days of my life. When Amy told me the Holy Spirit kept nudging her to pay for Beth Spangler, I was so grateful. Beth has been looking for and waiting for a friend like Amy for years. Thank You Jesus. Thank You.

Randy, this journaling course is more for you than it is for the participants. When I had Matt Gregory and Ben Stewart sign up as the first two people in the “UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny” course, that was huge. You see, I’ve brought them into your life to be in covenant relationship with you for life. The greatest habit I have blessed you with is journaling and now I want to have you bless them with that habit. I want to take them to a much deeper abiding in Me. I want them to learn to hear My voice. Thank You, Randy, for obeying my recent instruction to listen to Julia.

For more than 10 years in a row, Julia and I sent out beautiful custom Christmas cards and letters each year in the mail. By the time our last mailing went out for Christmas of 2007, we had almost 1,000 people on our list. Sending out those cards would take more than a week of our time and cost about $1,000.

This year, with our combined email lists, we are sending our special greeting to more than 2,000 people at no cost and the total time to review my journal, write this letter, and upload photos for the entire year took less than 2 days. And our multimedia message includes a variety of links.

 
We consider our family Christmas card one of the best gifts we can give to you because it’s the gift of ourselves, sharing our lives with you.

If I had to pick one word to summarize 2010 it would be BREAKTHROUGH. In early Dec 2009, I began taking a 10-week Breakthrough Life Coach training course taught by Janet Daughtry. That led to a whole chain reaction of breakthroughs.

For example, later in December 2009, our son Robbie asked me to start coaching him again on a weekly basis. Within a month or two, I began calling our sessions “Breakthrough Life Coaching” sessions and sure enough Robbie began experiencing major breakthroughs quickly. In the Spring of 2010, Robbie told me this was the best year of his life and a week later he told me the greatest gift I could have ever given him was my gift of coaching.

On February 1, 2010 I officially launched my free e-course called “30 Days To Breakthrough” teaching people how to be good stewards with their Time, Talent, Treasure, and Temple. This was something I had wanted to do for about 2 years. Nine months after the launch, I had subscribers from at least 40 states and 36 countries. And the list keeps growing and growing automatically each month. I sense this will be the greatest legacy I leave behind to change lives and disciple nations. CLICK HERE to learn more.

On Saturday February 27, I officially began using my middle name (Joseph) instead of my nickname (Randy) per Holy Spirit’s prompting. I spent about 8 hours that first day change my email signature on blogs, email autoresponders, etc. The very next day I received an email out-of-the-blue from Dr. Bruce Cook asking to connect with me. When we first spoke on March 1, we shared stories and dreams for 3 hours. This was amazing because I had been trying to connect with Bruce for 4 months per Nancy Slocum’s recommendation.

Bruce is the founder and convener of KEYS, the Kingdom Economic Yearly Summit, the Christian equivalent of the World Business Forum. Over the course of the year, Bruce opened many new doors of opportunity for me, including meeting many highly influential people.

On my birthday (March 18), heavenly Father released His birthday gift to the world – “The Father’s Blessing” webinar with Bruce Cook. This was by far the most popular webinar I had ever hosted up to then with 119 people registering from at least 22 states and 9 countries.

This webinar and my evolving relationship with Bruce eventually opened the door to host the VISIONS777 12-week, 24 webinars series, casting God’s visions for the next decade. What Holy Spirit did during this webinar series was so huge. A series of books will eventually be written about the fruit resulting from this.

The highlight for Julia and me this year was our trip in late August to Washington state for our nephew Andy’s wedding. This was a great opportunity to get together on several wonderful occasions with extended family, many of whom we had not seen for more than 10 years. Icing on the cake for this trip to Washington was the opportunity to stay for 3 nights at the home of Rod and Carrie Stone in Anacordis. CLICK HERE to see photos from our trip.

Julia had a transitional year in 2010. While she still is very fit and competed in several triathlons this year (qualifying for the Xterra World Triathlon Championship once again), she spent much more time teaching kickboxing classes at two local gyms.

Julia’s World Bean Roasthers coffee business continued to grow steadily and is now profitable. During the Christmas holiday season, she experience record orders. And we thank each person who has ordered coffee from her.

Caren is now 25 years old. After graduating from the College of William and Mary in May 2007 with a degree in accounting, she moved to northern Virginia near Julia’s mom. For the past year and a half Caren worked for The Carlyle Group. For the past two years, Caren has been dating Seth Roth.

Robbie is 23 years old, having graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Systems Engineering in May 2009. He lives in Arlington near Caren and has been working for Accenture in Washington DC ever since. For the past half year, Robbie has been dating Emily Schuller, the daughter of a retired Navy captain.

We are thankful that both Caren and Robbie prioritize family activities and get togethers.

Maui, our chocolate lab puppy that Caren gave us as a surprise present for Christmas 2009, celebrated her one year birthday on November 15. She has been an absolute delight for Julia and me and our family. And she makes me get out for long walks several times each day.

• Our family celebration of Caren’s birthday on April 25 (see photos)
• Our family celebration of Mother’s Day (see photos)

• Celebrating Olivia Scott’s birthday on July 18 (see photos)
• Our family celebration of Thanksgiving (see photos)
• Our family celebration of Christmas (see photos – Kim family, Peck family)

After reviewing and uploading photos for the past year, it’s obvious to me that the time spent with family has been the most precious.

Other things I especially appreciated this year included:

• Being able to work out of home with a flexible schedule
• Frequent visits with family and friends
• Supporting Julia in her triathlons as her companion and personal photographer
• Continuing to sow good seeds to change lives with my frequent blog posts at yourdailyblessing.com and journal777.com. I just discovered that people from 156 nations of the world visited my Journal777.com blog in 2010.
• Participating in many of the weekly Marching Through Culpeper prayer calls
• Hosting many highly inspirational webinars (learn more)
• A trip to Dayton Ohio with Dr. Jerry Graham to visit Tim Schofield in February (see photos)
• Participating by webcast in the international launch of the Kingdom Marketplace Coalition by Dr. Francis Myles and his team. I was one of the first people to join.
• Going to Kelly Godfrey’s wedding on March 13. I worked with Kelly’s father, Dr. Pete Godfrey for 12 years at Culpeper Hospital. (see photos)
• Visiting Bob & Carol Sims, Bruce Cook, Dr. Francis Myles, and Kyle Newton in Texas March 24-26 (see photos)
• My first trip to Las Vegas with Jerry Graham for an internet marketing conference in April (see photos)
• Participating in and speaking at the “Transforming Men’s Hearts Retreat” at Shenandoah Spring Camp in Madison Virginia on May 14-15 (see photos)
• Going to Richmond on June 16 to support Nancy Slocum for her presentation titled “Making Kingdom Connections Through Blogging” to the Richmond Christians Who Write group. I met Judi Reid in person for the first time. I also met Tom Lacy. (see photos)
• Launching my international Breakthrough Life Coaching career on July 6 when I sent an e-blast to my entire Constant Contact list inviting them to receive a free 30 minute coaching session. 15 people raised their hand within the first 16 hours.
• Getting connected to Will Green. Will called me out-of-the-blue on July 13, exactly fourteen days before the official launch of the Visions777 webinar series, and shared God’s vision given to him during a 50 day fast in early 2010 to raise up 100 million Word Warriors in America in the next decade. Since then we have become dear friends. A few weeks later, Will gifted me a Word Warriors Audio Bible, which has been a tremendous blessing.
• In August, Will Green officially became my first client ever in my $5,000 5-week Master’s Mind Marketing Program. After just two weeks, he told me he already received more than his money’s worth.
• Partnering with Michael Oswald to get ready to launch a virtual “30-60-100 Master’s Mind Marking Project For CEO’s “

Holy Spirit revealed to me that my key word for 2011 is COMMITMENT, my key scripture is James 5:12 – “Let your ‘yes’ be ‘yes’ and your ‘no’ be ‘no’!“, and my key question is “What will be your legacy?”

Some simple written goals I have set for 2011 include

• Praying three times each day like Daniel did
• Memorizing Psalm 91 in January 2011 as I pray that and personalize it 3x/day
• Writing and publishing a new book “UNCOMMON Journaling For Divine Destiny” by May 31, 2011
• Personally hosting 5 webinars/week by March 2011
• Intentionally growing the subscribers for “30 Days To Breakthrough” to 10,000 or more by Dec 31, 2011 through Social Media and reaching someone in every nation of the world
• Doubling our family’s gross business income each month during 2011

“Vantage Point” is a suspenseful action flick directed by Pete Travis, starring Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox, and Forest Whitaker. The plot centers around the attempted assassination of the American President, which is told and re-told from different vantage points (i.e. different people, different locations, different mindsets, different agendas, different focus’, etc.).

The movie provides some very interesting revelation on how to look at your business differently, and see insights, and breakthroughs for exponential increases in your profits.

Assess Your Vantage Point
A sure way to a boring – same old thing – photograph is to take a picture from the same point of view that everyone sees as the same scene from day in and day out. For example, imagine you’re walking down your neighborhood sidewalk. If you stop on the sidewalk at any particular point and simply lift your camera up to your eye and snap, the result is something you would see every day. It could be interesting, but the point of view that the photograph was made from definitely works against it. But kneel down and look for a new vantage point, or how about lying on your stomach and looking around – a whole different view.

I often wonder what kids under the age of 9 really experience on a crowded day at an amusement part – say Disneyland. Think about the fact that their line of sight is at or below the belt line of thousands of park goers – all day long. Do you suppose their experience of the sights and sounds differs from your adult altitude?

From what vantage point do you look at your business? Are you the founder, have you been living and breathing this business from the time is was a seed of an idea, have you lived through years of good times, and years of bad times, have you hired and fired endless employees over the years, did you start the business when Internet marketing was unheard of?

When was the last time you took a really fresh perspective, a real long hard look at your business from a different vantage point? Have you ever done it?

Look for a Fresh Vantage Point
Consider some ways to look at your business in a new, fresh way:

1. View from your prospects vantage point – your sign, your storefront, your yellow pages ad, your website, the voice on the phone, the first person that greets them – does anybody greet them?

2. View from your customers vantage point – how have you recognized them, thanked them, followed up with them, communicated about new products or service to them?

3. View from your vendors and suppliers vantage point – do you make it easy to do business with them, how accurate is your paperwork, how quickly do you pay your bills, how do you acknowledge/thank/communicate to them?

4. View from your competitors vantage point – how do you threaten them, how do you make their job easy, how often do you change and improve – always looking for the edge.

5. View from your employees vantage point – how enjoyable are you to work for, is your work environment uplifting/safe/comfortable, how often do you praise vs. reprimand, what’s in it for them?

So, I encourage you to accept a suggested homework assignment – take the above five vantage points – and freshly look at your business through the eyes of each of these groups of people. Then actually ask people in each of those groups what they see, feel, experience with you and your business. How similar is your view of their vantage point with their actual vantage point.

Jesus, my spirit is jumping for joy this morning. I am so excited about the new revelations you are downloading to my spirit. I feel strongly I am on the verge of a major breakthrough. I’m ready to receive from you. The student is ready and You are the MASTER. Teach me what I need to know today. Bless me with Your wisdom and understanding. You are wisdom. You are Understanding. Those are two of the seven spirits of God.

The Story Behind The Story is THE KEY to successful and highly prolific webinars. Everyone has a story. According to the TMCJ flash header, “Every person … every family … every community… every culture… every nation … needs THE STORY.” People can argue with your doctrine. People can argue with your religion and personal views. But no one can argue with your story.

Revelations 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

You see, Joseph, someone’s testimony, their story, is on par with My blood. Today, I AM giving you the final number to unlock the combination lock to your sweet spot.



Your forte is webinars. And “The Story Behind The Story” is your forte webinar. And when people ask what you do, tell them “I help people share their stories with the world with webinars!” That is UNIQUELY YOU. You’re the only one in the world who has been called to do that and teach others to do likewise. To be prolific in the marketplace, whatever you do must be duplicable. If it requires you, then it will not be able to be franchised. Will Green will prosper greatly when he does webinars allowing famous people he knows to share their story.

Joseph, I want you to write down 7 questions you want to ask to have people reveal their life stories.

• What was it like for you growing up?
• How did you do in school and what kind of education did you receive?
• What were the most significant challenges you had to overcome to BE successful?
• What do you consider your greatest achievements in your life?
• What have been your greatest failures (greatest trauma)?
• What role has your faith played in your life?
• What do you want your LEGACY to be?

Jesus, I’d also like to ask, “What have been the most important life lessons you have ever learned?”

Think about it, there are three great divisions of time – past, present, and future. There are 3 dimensions necessary to form anything solid – length, breadth, and height. There is a threefold nature of man – body, soul and spirit.

Three is divine perfection. The Bible instructs us that a tri-cord strand is not easily broken. In addition, throughout Scripture three is an incredibly prevalent number. Consider all the threes in Scripture:

• Faith, hope, love – Father, Son, Holy Spirit – Thanksgiving, praise, worship
• Outer court, inner court, Holy of holies – knowledge, wisdom, understanding
• 30 fold, 60 fold, 100-fold increase – 3 key attributes of God: all-knowing, all powerful, all-present

In every business there are three types of customers – those that pay you for your products/services, those you pay to work directly for you (employees), and those you pay for outsourced services or products (vendors and suppliers).

There are three primary ways to grow any business – bring in new customers/increase your customer base, increase the frequency of purchase by your existing customers, and increase the size of each purchase.

One of the most sought after speakers right now is Steve Jobs. Audiences love his presentation style. What is his secret — THREE things – 1) he creates a story to share; 2) he delivers an experience; and 3) he inspires the audience to act.

Innovation falls into three primary categories – incremental innovation, breakthroughs, and game-changing innovation.

Incremental Innovation is focused on making small but significant improvements to existing products or services. Think changing plain detergent to detergent with bleach, detergent with pine scent.

Breakthrough innovations introduce an existing technology into a new market, or a new technology into an existing market, or changes the way the offering is delivered. Think about air bladders — used for many things but never running shoes. Enter Nike – revolutionize the running shoe industry!

Game-changers DISRUPT an existing market or create a whole new market. A good example from years ago was the switch from cloth diapers to disposable diapers. More recently think how e-mail, online faxing, and all-in-one printers/copiers/fax machines have pretty much wiped out the market for stand alone fax machines.

How effectively are you using the power of three in your life and your business?

When was the last time your business had a day focused on innovation?

Many businesses have never really had a deliberate and strategic innovation planning. Maybe it is time you do that for your business! Look for the power of three as you innovate!

If you are not happy with the direction that your business and/or your life is headed then redesign it by re-positioning three key components – your expectations, your words, and your actions. To achieve a new result, requires you to do something different.

Will Smith has made Hollywood history, and his personal “magic formula” can accelerate your business growth, and income. One of his recent films, Hancock, brought in $107.3 million in box office receipts in the first week. This makes him the first actor to star in eight straight movies that brought in over $100 million.

Simply put, Will Smith is the industry’s most “bankable” man. How does he do it? A recent USA Today article reveals his secret: “I study patterns,” he says. “Nine out of the top 10 biggest movies of all times have special effects; eight out of 10 have creatures in them; seven out of 10 have a love story. So if you want a hit, you might want to throw those in the mix. I just study patterns and try to stand where lightning strikes.”

Re-Positioning

Dewitt Jones – a freelance photographer for National Geographic has a favorite credo “Position yourself in the place of highest potential.” Do you see a striking similarity with Will Smith’s strategy of studying where lightning strikes and simply move to that location in advance?

This sums up the essence of re-positioning. If your business and/or life are not running as you want, not providing the results you desire, not meeting your expectations, and/or falling short of your hopes and dreams – then you need to re-position yourself in some way. Simply doing the same things over and over, expecting a different result is madness – I think Albert Einstein was the one that said as much.

A critical skill in business is the ability to pause, find a vantage point that allows you to see 360 degrees – behind, ahead, and all around your current location/place. By temporarily stopping from working in your business, and taking some time to work on your business, important revelations can come forth. In fact, three keys to creating a new, better result include rest, reflection and revelation. This new, better result fits hand in glove with the concept of re-positioning.

Re-Position Your Expectations

The first of the applications of re-positioning is relative to your expectations. During your time of rest/reflection/revelation – ask yourself – what expectations do you have for your business and your life? Are they aggressive, growth oriented, positive, bold, huge, and even scary BIG?

What you expect – you tend to get. So if your results are not what you want, examine your expectations. Over time, it is easy to let the world wear you down and cause you to lower your expectations, let them turn sour and/or south (neither one is good!).

Change your expectations as a key first strategy to re-position your business and your life! Study the patterns in your industry – look for the lightning. Find the location of highest potential – then get about moving that way.

Become Word Conscious – Re-Position Your Words

The power to change your business and your life rests in your words. Simple statement – but big truth! A lot is being said about thinking. However, it’s your spoken words that get the desired results. Words are physical “containers” of your thoughts.

Do yourself a favor and accept this challenge: for one week be very attentive and conscious to the words flowing from your mouth. Especially notice the automatic responses you tend to use without even thinking. These are strong clues to what’s in your heart and mind! This is where journaling can be a handy tool.

Write down the expressions and words you use throughout the day – what do you say in high stress situations, what about in casual conversations, what about when thinking about your business? By writing it down and then reviewing it weekly you will be able to see a pattern emerging. Once you identify certain expressions, you can then acknowledge what your tendencies are and, therefore, can start to change your habits.

Consider the various business situations you encounter in your daily life. Determine those that are causing you stress or attracting unwanted results. Ask yourself – what words are you using to express that situation. Replace words that dis-empower with words that empower. “Should, must, and have to” become “could, want, and choose to.”

Pay attention to the intensity of the words you use. Are they appropriate to the situation? Notice the metaphors you use, they will reveal how you are choosing to approach your business.

Re-Position Your Actions

The power to change your business and your life rests in your the actions – the ones you take, and the ones you don’t. If you take SMARTER ACTIONS, you generate more POWERFUL RESULTS.

My all time favorite refrigerator magnet says, “If Nothing Changes, then Nothing Changes“. What a great summation about the importance and power of re-positioning your expectations, your words, and your actions. To get a different result in your business and your life requires change – commit to some business and personal re-positioning!
