On the night of Sunday June 8, 2008 I went to bed around midnight and chose not to set my PDA alarm. I woke up around 6:25 AM the next morning (June 9) to use the bathroom and then lay in bed for about 10 minutes resting and reflecting before finally getting up. When I got up, I immediately came to my office, knelt down, and prayed. After that, I began journaling on my computer.

The first thing I was prompted to do was write a message titled “Are you seeking BREAKTHROUGHS in your life?” to send to my Your Daily Blessing followers in two days (on March 11). The key scripture I had chosen was Habakkuk 2:2 – Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”

Next, Holy Spirit prompted me to help Dr. Jerry Graham prepare a Daily Gram (e-blast) for him to send to his 800 or so followers on Wed June 11 about the introductory journaling webinars (“UNCOMMON Journaling for Breakthroughs”) we were promoting together. The purpose of those was to spark interest in the 5-week UNCOMMON Journaling For DESTINY online coaching program we were launching live on June 17 and 18.

When I accessed Jerry’s Constant Contact (email marketing) account to post the message I had prepared, I discovered to my surprise that Jerry had already prepared an outstanding message titled “Journaling as Communion with God” using the exact same scripture verse I had chosen – Habakkuk 2:2.

In his message (upcoming email), Jerry mentioned that the two of us were teaming up to do a 5-week, 35-day on-line course in journaling (UNCOMMON Journaling For Destiny) with a special emphasis on understanding your life purpose or destiny. He went on to say this was an exciting combination of two of the most significant learning experiences he had been blessed with in his life, namely journaling as a means of engaging in a two-way dialog with God, and coaching with a specific emphasis on the “discovery” of one’s life purpose and destiny.

Jerry went on to write, “Over 25 years ago, I was taught to journal as a means of hearing God’s voice by Dr. Mark Virkler, who has since become a good friend and ministry colleague. Mark developed a seminar that he continues to teach to this day around the world, called ‘Communion With God’.” I recommend you CLICK HERE to read Jerry’s entire email message. Jerry is one of the most experienced DESTINY coaches in the world.

Jerry’s email (that he hadn’t even sent out yet) prompted me to call Dr. Mark Virkler later that afternoon (June 9). This was the very first time I had ever spoken to or met Mark Virkler and what he shared was so inspiring. I discovered that Mark is one of the top teachers in the world about spiritual journaling. As I was showing Mark how I journal online and shared the amazing story about Habakkuk 2:2 from that morning, Mark told me Habakkuk 2:1-2 is the foundational scripture for his Communion With God Ministries.

Now that grabbed my attention. 3 times in one day the LORD brought the same scripture (Habakkuk 2:2) to my attention and from 3 different sources. So I was all ears as Mark shared his profound wisdom and insights with me. And Mark promptly followed up our conversation by sending two emails, including one titled “You Can Hear God’s Voice!”

Early the next morning (Tuesday June 10), I woke up with Holy Spirit’s instruction to immediately apply Mark’s “4 keys to hear God” and also design a new computer desktop image with those 4 keys. After typing my prayer with a 2-way dialog with God, I was astonished with the result – a deeper intimacy with the LORD.

It’s interesting to note that Holy Spirit had actually prompted Jerry to refer me to Mark two weeks earlier knowing we were soon launching our journaling course because he knew Mark well and that he was one of more experienced journalers in the world. However, as most of us frequently do, I failed to seize the opportunity at that time.

How many times have you missed GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES because of failure to act in a timely fashion?

LORD, you want each of us to learn to hear Your voice because You love us and have specific instructions to give us each day – not vague thoughts, but specific things You want us to know and to do. You know what works and what doesn’t. You want to take each of us to an entirely new level of abiding in You. You want us to experience Your love like never before. You want us to know that You’re not just here beside us, but You’re here to answer questions that we have. You have been waiting. Heavenly Father, here I go, writing out my spontaneous prayer early in the morning. I’m so excited to get back to what I’ve known for quite a while You want me to do. Forgive me for allowing all sorts of distractions to get in the way of this magnificent habit. Thank You for Your attention grabber yesterday with Habukkuk 2 and the UNCOMMON connection to Mark Virkler and his UNCOMMON message.

Thank You for waking me up early this morning knowing You wanted me to change my desktop background to include an image of Jesus, Mark Virkler’s 4 keys to hear from God, and Habukkuk 2:1-3. Thank You for each image of Jesus You led me to. Thank you Holy Spirit for using me as Your instrument to design the new image using Photoshop. I love it.

Jesus, I see You and hear You saying “You want to dine with me this morning and each day. You’re certainly welcome here in my home and wherever I go. I hear You saying “You want to start having two way conversations instead of one way ones. I hear You saying You’ve been waiting for this moment for so long.” I hear You saying “You’ve been knocking on the door of my heart – that You have the answers to the problems I’ve been facing and that the solutions are very simple. You have solutions to my financial difficulties.”

I hear you saying “Mark Virkler’s web page for Outstanding Links” is full of prospects and new contacts for you – people who have been waiting years to have God connect you to them.” I hear You saying, “Bless Mark – to open new vistas for him through social marketing.”

VISION: I see NEW HORIZONS OF OPPORTUNITIES opening for Mark as He steps into the Internet space age. I see Mark standing at the beach looking out at the ocean while a magnificent sunrise takes place. I see Mark fall to his knees and start to cry. This is what he has been waiting for. This is his MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH. I see people – lots of people starting to run up and surround Mark on the beach. So many people coming. They’ve been waiting to meet Mark. They want to just be near him. They want to learn from him. O God, I’m overwhelmed with what You are showing me. I’m overwhelmed by the joy on so may people’s faces.

Now I see the people around Mark beginning to sit down. Mark is starting to speak to them like You did, Jesus, for Your sermon on the mount. Now the people are eating while they listen. This is one of the most beautiful picnic scenes I have ever seen. So many people. Now more are coming. People are hungry for Your Word. They want to hear from You Jesus. This is what they’ve been waiting for. Overwhelming. Joy. Delight. Free thought. Freedom.

Now I hear You saying Jesus that “You want me to take everyone who signs up for Jerry and my 5 week online journaling course to go through something similar – to learn to hear God by following Mark’s 4 keys.”

I’m so excited. Thank You Jesus for showing this to me.

I hear You saying “You are going to open Mark’s eyes to the new horizons that WEBINARS will open for him. Not just doors, not just gates, but horizons of opportunities. I hear You saying “COVENANT with Mark!!!” You have knit our hearts together. You have been patiently waiting for this moment – for this opportunity to advance the Kingdom of God through the combination of journaling, coaching, and the web.

Praise be to God. Hallelujah. I receive. I will send this prayer to Mark this morning as You are telling me.

Now I see myself lying down to rest. You’re telling me go back to bed. Lay down. You’ve been obedient. My glory is upon You. People will be attracted to You because You will have the “AROMA OF CHRIST.” What you offer will be irresistible to so many people. Rest now. Rest. Peace be with you. My peace. Thank You for dining with me. I’ve really enjoyed this. Now you get it. It’s so easy. I’ve been waiting to have Mark teach you. You will never be the same. Thank You for your obedience – your UNCOMMON obedience. Thank You for acknowledging Me everywhere You go.

Journaling is two lovers sharing love… speaking back and forth.

So you can write in the first person, as Jesus speaking directly to you and calling you by name. He will say, “my son, I want to you know…” so He is speaking in the first person to you… rather than the way you have it written… “I hear you saying that…”

It is just one more step of faith for you to take… not a hard thing… it will come naturally.

On June 18, 2008 the morning after the very first “UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny” class, I began the “daily” habit of applying Mark’s 4 keys to hear from God. Here is what Jesus told me in response to the Day #1 destiny question:

Day 1 Question
Lord, why do You want me to learn to hear Your voice?

Because I love You and I have specific instructions to give You each day – not vague thoughts, but specific things I want you to know and to do. Randy, I know what works and what doesn’t. I want to take you to an entirely new level of abiding in Me. I want you to experience My love like never before. I want You to know that I’m not just here beside You, but I’m here to answer questions that You have. I’ve been waiting.

All the things you’ve been praying and waiting for, I want to make happen. It was Me who put those desires in your heart. But first you had to learn to hear My voice. I know what order You are to do things, when You are to do things, what to do, and what not to do. I’m not a vague God. Just as you want your children to know clearly what you want them to do, so I want You to know clearly what I want You to to. I love You Randy. I want You to be married to Me, not just engaged. I can use you because You have a heart after my own heart. I’ve been preparing You. The time in NOW. Behold I do a new thing. My glory is upon You. My favor is upon You.

Jesus, I’m overwhelmed. This morning as I reflected back on yesterday, I realized all the breakthroughs that happened in just that one day. Then this morning, I have one of the most awesome days of my life. When Amy told me the Holy Spirit kept nudging her to pay for Beth Spangler, I was so grateful. Beth has been looking for and waiting for a friend like Amy for years. Thank You Jesus. Thank You.

Randy, this journaling course is more for you than it is for the participants. When I had Matt Gregory and Ben Stewart sign up as the first two people in the “UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny” course, that was huge. You see, I’ve brought them into your life to be in covenant relationship with you for life. The greatest habit I have blessed you with is journaling and now I want to have you bless them with that habit. I want to take them to a much deeper abiding in Me. Three is divine perfection. The Bible instructs us that a tri-cord strand is not easily broken. In addition, throughout Scripture three is an incredibly prevalent number. Consider all the threes in Scripture:

• Faith, hope, love – Father, Son, Holy Spirit – Thanksgiving, praise, worship
• Outer court, inner court, Holy of holies – knowledge, wisdom, understanding
• 30 fold, 60 fold, 100-fold increase – 3 key attributes of God: all-knowing, all powerful, all-present

In every business there are three types of customers – those that pay you for your products/services, those you pay to work directly for you (employees), and those you pay for outsourced services or products (vendors and suppliers).

There are three primary ways to grow any business – bring in new customers/increase your customer base, increase the frequency of purchase by your existing customers, and increase the size of each purchase.

One of the most sought after speakers right now is Steve Jobs. Audiences love his presentation style. What is his secret — THREE things – 1) he creates a story to share; 2) he delivers an experience; and 3) he inspires the audience to act.

Innovation falls into three primary categories – incremental innovation, breakthroughs, and game-changing innovation.

Incremental Innovation is focused on making small but significant improvements to existing products or services. Think changing plain detergent to detergent with bleach, detergent with pine scent.

Breakthrough innovations introduce an existing technology into a new market, or a new technology into an existing market, or changes the way the offering is delivered. Think about air bladders — used for many things but never running shoes. Enter Nike – revolutionize the running shoe industry!

Game-changers DISRUPT an existing market or create a whole new market. A good example from years ago was the switch from cloth diapers to disposable diapers. More recently think how e-mail, online faxing, and all-in-one printers/copiers/fax machines have pretty much wiped out the market for stand alone fax machines.

How effectively are you using the power of three in your life and your business?

When was the last time your business had a day focused on innovation?

Many businesses have never really had a deliberate and strategic innovation planning. Maybe it is time you do that for your business! Look for the power of three as you innovate!

The first 4 questions come from David Colb, the next 2 from Dan Sullivan, and the last one from David Allen.

You have the WHY learner, the WHAT learner, the HOW learner, and the What IF learner. Be sure to ask and answer these questions in this order.

The Great Commission is a TEACHING as well as PREACHING commission!

Mt 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (NAS) Teach them all I commanded you.

Did you know that Jesus gave us 50 commandments to take to the nations?

The 50 commandments of Christ will change a nation. Notice how Jesus commands us to both preach repentance and TEACH THEM TO “OBSERVE ALL THINGS THAT I COMMANDED YOU”. We tend to focus on getting people saved, or born again. That is certainly the start. This however is called the “Gospel of Salvation.”

The “Gospel of the Kingdom” on the other hand is the Gospel we are called to preach. It includes the call to repentance but goes much further. It 7 Mountains of Culture reaches into the world system and threatens Satan’s control over the nations. It is a teaching commission along side a preaching commission. It has been neglected too long.

To disciple a nation you need a philosophy that governs all aspects of behavior yet is flexible enough to apply to all sectors of society. What are the sectors of society the gospel must penetrate in order to disciple nations?

There are in fact seven mountains or world kingdoms that make up the matrix in which the culture of every nation exists. These mountains are also called “mind molders”, because the person who controls the tops of these mountains has leverage over the minds and lives of those beneath in every other mountain. The church has a message for each of these mountains. We need to both demonstrate the power of God and recover our confidence in the practical, life changing dynamic that is unleashed when society is built on non optional universal life principles- the commandments of Christ! It is the absence of this moral foundation that explains why it is easier to liberate a country from dictatorship than it is to bring it into order and prosperity once the dictator is out of power.

When the “WHY” gets big enough, the “HOW” will work itself out.

What are your dreams?
What is your DESTINY?

Let’s talk first about why you should journal. What are the benefits for you? Unless you are convinced that journaling is going to make a big difference in your life, you are very likely to give up on this great habit before it’s firmly established. But when the “WHY” gets big enough, the “HOW” will work itself out.

The topic for this week and my focus this year is “God’s Voice Worldwide.” That was the title of Mark Virkler’s January 2009 e-newsletter sent on December 31 to his 15,000 subscribers. Mark is author of “How to Hear God’s Voice” and President of Christian Leadership University (CLU). He is also President and Founder of Communion With God Ministries. What a great name.

2008 was a profound year for me in terms of relationships. Not only did I grow wider (i.e. many more relationships), but much deeper with relationships I already had. As I reflect back on 2008, it seems Mark Virkler had a greater impact on my intimacy (relationship) with Jesus than anyone, even though I only spoke to Mark once in 2008. Amazing! And who connected me with Mark? Dr. Jerry Graham.

In my one hour conversation with Mark on June 9, 2008, he taught me 4 keys to hearing God’s voice. One of those was two-way journaling (me and Jesus). I began applying those 4 keys the next morning and my life has not been the same since. Mark is a world-renown leader at teaching people to hear God’s voice through journaling. What Mark teaches is simple, not rocket science.

On Saturday Jan 3 while journaling 2-way, Jesus told me,

“Randy, you’ve been trying to do way too much in the natural. I work in the supernatural. One connection from me can completely change your life. Mark Virkler is that connection. I created you to be an UNCOMMON Journaler. I have taught you how to use Web 2.0 to help people like Mark Virkler and those in his network share their messages with the world. Today, as you read Mark’s Dec 31 email, I had this jump out at you:

‘Every January, I journal and ask the Lord what He wants me to focus on during the coming 12 months. I encourage you to do the same. He has always directed me into the areas where He wants me to grow in and master.

Over the years it has included topics such as abiding in Christ, operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, improving the quality of my marriage, learning to market and finance CLU, along with many others. Generally I write a book on what I have learned, as the passion of a Spirit-anointed teacher is to pass on revelation knowledge so others who desire can follow in their footsteps.’

Randy, Mark has been waiting for someone to come alongside him to show him how to market CLU. I have trained you and Jerry to use Web 2.0, the number one marketing tool on the planet bar none. On his Welcome page for CLU, Mark says his top priority is “Raising up Spirit-anointed leaders who disciple nations.” I have led you to change your slogan for all your main websites (blogs) to “Changing Lives to Disciple Nations!” Get it – Disciple Nations. That’s what Mark wants to do. That’s what you and Jerry want to do. That what I want to do. And learning to hear God’s voice is the key.”

Jesus, I thank You for Mark Virkler and his anointing to teach others to hear Your Voice. Thank you for connecting the two of us through Jerry Graham. Thank you that Mark has agreed to a 3-way meeting with Jerry and me in mid January. May you bless that meeting and the outcome to allow 2009 to be the year of “God’s Voice Worldwide.” Thank you! Lord Jesus, thank You for leading me this morning to Mark Virkler’s Dec 31 email titled “God’s Voice Worldwide (January 2009).” Thank You for leading me to cut and paste that into my journal and then reflect upon it. Thank You for Your reminder to order Mark’s Virkler’s materials today (now).

I want to say I’m sorry for not following through sooner with the instruction You gave to me on June 22 to “Schedule a 3 way meeting with Jerry and Mark Virkler.” Please forgive me.

Randy, you’ve had a lot going on and have allowed a lot of distractions in your life. This time you spend with me each morning settles your mind and let’s you focus on what’s most important in your life. As Mark Virkler said in his Dec 31 email, “When you use ‘Laser Light Focus,’ things change in your life.”

Today, I led you to “A Welcome from the President” at Christian Leadership University. I wanted you to read Mark’s introductory message to students and potential students.

Our Top Priority: “Raising up Spirit-anointed leaders who disciple nations.”

“Thank you for choosing to examine what you will find to be an exciting and innovative educational opportunity. Our program is designed to meet your needs, and stretch and equip you to become a world-changing, Spirit-anointed leader.

In the midst of international travail, God is seeking a people who will become disciplers of nations, lead and not follow, lend and not borrow, be above and not underneath (Deut. 28:1-14). This will not be done out of human wisdom or strength but by the anointing and wisdom of God Himself flowing through His children. That is why God begins Deuteronomy 28 by twice saying, “If you will obey My voice…then….” So we will train you to hear the voice of God and then to apply it to the various disciplines of life in which God is calling you to demonstrate anointed leadership.

Since we have removed the sacred/secular split and believe that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, we will train you to take applied biblical understanding as well as the voice and anointing of God into all areas of life and to demonstrate godly leadership there. I sense that God is raising up sons and daughters of Abraham who will minister in multi-gifted fashion as Abraham did. Abraham was a spiritual leader, a business leader, and a political leader, all wrapped up in one. May we learn to live in like manner. We provide for our graduates to be ordained and certified in many different vocational/ministry settings.”

Randy, here is what you are to do this morning:
1) Order Mark Virkler’s materials that he told you about when you first spoke to him on June 9, 2008. – Done
2) Email Mark Virkler requesting a 3-way meeting with him, Jerry Graham, and you. – Done
3) Add the audio testimonies to the Destiny course landing page. Also add other people’s testimonies about your journaling. Add “When you get in alignment with your assignment, God’s provision will follow.” and “Prosperity is having enough of God’s provision to accomplish His assignment for your life.”
4) Write your 2008 family Christmas letter. You are finally ready.
5) Record and transcribe the audio from Sid Roth’s interview of Mark Virkler
And finally, Randy, here’s the goal – “God’s Voice Worldwide” – and you will accomplish that through a Joint Venture between you, Jerry, and Mark.

What is JIREH Marketing?
Why is that so significant to God’s people in this day and age we live in?

JIREH Marketing is Jerry and Sharon Graham’s parent company. Functionally there are 3 divisions:
1) The Coaching Pair – “Guiding YOU To Your DESTINY”
2) Nutrition 777 – “Coaching YOU To Care For The Only Body You Will Ever Have”
3) Wellness 777 – “UNCOMMON Coaching For WELLNESS”

JIREH literally means “Provider” and comes from “Jehovah JIREH,” often translated “God our Provider!”

According to the Book of Genesis, Jehovah-jireh (Jehovah/YHWH will provide) is the place in the land of Moriah where God told Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering. Abraham named this place after Jehovah provided a ram to sacrifice in place of Isaac. (Genesis 22:14)

According to Wikipedia, “The contemporary English Translation of the Greek Septuagint Bible contains, “The Lord hath seen.” Some translations render it “the LORD will provide”, with “LORD” taking the place of the Tetragrammaton. One Latin version of the Bible rendered the name in Latin as Dominus videt (”The Lord sees”).”

Later this place (Jehovah-jireh) became the site of the Temple in Jerusalem.

OK, so why is this significant and what does this have to do with me and you?

The best thing that happened to me during my year long sabbatical in 2007 was getting connected with Dr. Jerry Graham. Jerry is the most anointed person I know to guide someone into their destiny. He has had a profound impact on the focus of my life. And you are benefitting directly from that.

Not only that, but JIREH Marketing and Empower 2000 (my parent company) have partnered with several informal joint ventures with more being birthed all the time. As our influence (success) increases that will directly impact you.

Over the past year, Jerry has evolved into a Social Marketing (Web 2.0) authority. In the process, he pulled my head out of the sand to realize that Web 1.0 (websites) is dead. A few days ago, Jerry exposed me to what I’m calling Web 3.0. It’s a fully integrated web system that’s like having a skilled virtual assistant working for you 40 hours per month for only $1/hour.

As I saw Jerry’s passion turn toward Relationship Marketing, the Holy Spirit gave me the slogan “UNCOMMON Social Marketing” for JIREH Marketing. Jerry chose to receive that blessing.

Why the word “UNCOMMON?” When we use the word UNCOMMON, we mean inspired by the Holy Spirit for a God-size result. In essence, JIREH Marketing is Social Marketing (Web 2.0) by and for Jehovah JIREH!

Prayer Power
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for Jerry and Sharon Graham. Thank You for the many seeds of life they are sowing into so many lives. Thank You that You will multiply the good seeds they sow 100 fold in their own lives. Thank You for the opportunity to partner with JIREH Marketing in so many joint ventures.
